10 Things Every Blogger Should Know About God
I believe with all my heart that God is raising up bloggers for such a time as this. God wants to use you in a mighty way, blogger. Begin to believe this and declare it over your life.
Below I will discuss 10 things we as bloggers should know about God. Store these character traits of God in your heart and recall them often. Go forth and do the thing God is calling you to do with confidence!
-
God is orderly
Thus there were fourteen generations in all from Abraham to David, fourteen from David to the exile to Babylon,
and fourteen from the exile to the Messiah.
Matthew 1:17 NIV
I love when I come across scriptures like this that remind me just how precise and orderly our God is. Things don’t happen by coincidence. He always has a plan. It wasn’t 12, 9, and 8 generations, it was 14, 14, and 14 generations.
1 Corinthians 14:33 puts it this way, “For God is not a God of disorder but of peace”. He is not a God of disorder, and He does not intend for our blogs to feel disorderly.
When I first started blogging, I didn’t abide to the order of blogging. I was trying to do all the things, all at once. I don’t believe God would have us to blog this way. There is an order to blogging. If blogging feels scattered and chaotic to you right now, take some time to pray and ask God to show you the order to blogging that He would have you to follow.

2. He sends supernatural dreams.
But after he had considered this, an angel of the LORD appeared to him in a dream and said, “Joseph son of David, do not be afraid to take Mary
home as your wife, because what is conceived in her is from the Holy Spirit.
Matthew 1:20 NIV
God speaks to people through dreams. In fact, there are at least 20 recordings of supernatural dreams in the Bible. We recently had a speaker at our church who encouraged us to pray for visions from God each morning and supernatural dreams each night before going to bed.
We should be actively seeking these types of encounters with God. Pray for God to send you supernatural dreams and visions to share with your readers. What an incredible method to share God with others in a mighty way!
3. He speaks new ideas through His people.
The virgin will conceive and give birth to a son, and they will call him Immanuel” (which means “God with us”).
Matthew 1:23 NIV
Has God ever imparted a new revelation to you, but you felt fearful to share it with others out of fear of knowing if it was truly from God? Fear not! God speaks new ideas through His people. The prophets of the Bible were declaring something as foreign as a virgin becoming pregnant.
I don’t know about you, but I would be hesitant to declare that through all the land. The prophets had to know they were hearing from God and to trust that He would empower them to speak His words of truth. Believe today that God can use you to speak new ideas to His people.
4. He speaks through nature.
and asked, “Where is the one who has been born king of the Jews? We saw his star when it rose and have come to worship him.”
Matthew 2:2 NIV
God uses nature over and over again throughout the bible to speak to His people. Of course, He sent a rainbow to remind us of His promise to never again destroy the earth by flood, and in the passage above He used a star to lead the wise men to baby Jesus.
Nature is a powerful way to hear from God. Its vastness alone is such a testament of just how powerful, mighty, creative, and wonderful our God is. We can learn so much about Him just by being aware of our surroundings.
Next time you are outdoors or driving in your car, take time to look around and see just how wonderful God’s creation is. He is the ultimate creator, and we as bloggers and creators can learn so much from Him. In my 30-day devotional, Blog His Way, I share several instances of God using nature to remind me of His promises.
5. He uses the little.
‘But you, Bethlehem, in the land of Judah, are by no means least among the rulers of Judah; for out of you will come a ruler who
will shepherd my people Israel.'”
Matthew 2:6 NIV
Oh, how comforting this statement is. We don’t have to be big, well-known or famous to be used by our great God. No, in fact, He often purposely seeks out the little. He looks for the ones who could never possibly do it on their own, but only through His mighty hand.
How wonderful this is! God chose little Bethlehem to be the birth place of the King of Kings. No matter how small you feel or how small your blog may be, God can and will use you in a mighty way. Don’t let being little scare you or keep you from moving forward in all you’ve been called to do.
6. He loves to amaze His people.
After they had heard the king, they went on their way, and the star they had seen when it rose went ahead of them until it
stopped over the place where the child was.
Matthew 2:9 NIV
Our God loves to amaze us. He loves to do miraculous signs and wonders. Allow God to amaze you through your blog. Allow and expect Him to use your blog in ways you never anticipated.
He’s a God of miracles, and He’s in the business of amazing His children. Begin to take note of the amazing things God has done and is doing in your life.
7. He speaks constantly.
Jesus answered, “It is written: ‘Man shall not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God.
Matthew 4:4 NIV
According to Matthew 13:16, we’ve been given God blessed eyes that see and God blessed ears that hear. Conversation with God should be natural to us. The verse above tells us that God speaks constantly. Are we constantly listening?
As bloggers, we need to be in constant communication with God. We need to be certain that our ears are listening for His guidance as we blog. If you struggle in this area, pray and ask God to give you God given eyes that see, and God given ears that hear.
8. He wants you to shine your light.
In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.
Matthew 5:16 NIV
Oh, how the enemy wants to convince us to hide our light. Blogger, shine your light and shine it brightly for all to see. Not for your own glory of course, but for God’s glory. You have a story to tell. Your story matters.
Other’s lives can be transformed as they see His light shining through you. Don’t allow the enemy to keep you from shining your light. Go out and shine brightly for God’s glory.
10 Things every Christian Blogger should know about God. -Lauren Prezzano #bloghisway Share on X9. He wants to meet you in the secret place.
So that it will not be obvious to others that you are fasting, but only to your Father, who is unseen; and your Father,
who sees what is done in secret, will reward you.
Matthew 6:18 NIV
In order to give out, we must be filled up. Meet God in the secret place often to have your cup filled. It is from the overflow that we are able to give to others. We can’t give from an empty cup.
Be careful not to become so consumed with helping others that you forsake allowing yourself to be filled in His mighty presence. In my 30-day devotional, Blog His Way, I talk about How God used my daughter’s nursery as a place to regularly meet with Him.
10. He wants you to store up heavenly treasures.
But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moths and vermin do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal.
Matthew 6:20 NIV
We are called to keep our focus heaven bound and not to become consumed with the things of this world. It’s an easy trap to fall into, as Satan makes the things of this world seem so appealing. But I’d like to encourage you to keep your heart set on storing up heavenly treasures.
Does this mean our blogs can’t bring in a profit for us, if that is the route God has put on our hearts to take? Absolutely not, it simply means that we need to be more focused on storing up heavenly treasures than we are on earthly treasures.
Wrapping Up!
I hope these 10 character traits of God empower you on your blogging journey. I believe with all my heart that God is going to use the blogging community in a mighty way. Stay connected to Him as you blog.
Keep your ears tuned in to hearing His voice and go forth with confidence knowing that God is for you on this journey! If God is for us, who can be against us? Romans 8:31

Wonderful reminders…for after many years of blogging, it is easy to give up or lose focus… to feel that we have said it all. I believe that what God has sponsored can become our total purpose in living. Lose that and we perish. I am almost 90 and I say “send me in coach, I can still score”.

Wow. I truly hope I have your gumption at 90 and able to say with such passion, “Send me in Coach!” Love that!
