15 Encouraging Scriptures for your husband.
There are many times I have felt like hashtagging myself as a wife. And I don’t meant in the cute way like most Instagrammers do with: “Oops honey, I burnt the cookies.”
I mean like some serious: #wifefail #timetobequiet or my favorite #calmtheemotionsdowngirl.
I am a emotional talker and it can overtake my good intentions. What sometimes seems like, I am just barely raising my tone can be louder than I think. (enters the ‘shrugging the shoulders’ emoji).
Like all the time, I need a wife check on myself but one thing I take much pride in and that I am confident enough to hashtag myself with #yougogirl (corny? A little corny…?) is how much I love to:
Encourage my Husband.
I am not saying this to be boastful of myself AT.ALL.
But encouraging my husband is something I take heart in.
It is something I invest tears and pleas to with the Lord frequently. Like literally ugly cries to God to help me become better at encouraging others and my spouse.
You see….. There is something in my past that made speaking life to my husband and to our marriage very important to me.
One night during a sobbing fest about forgiveness towards my ex-husband and what was now our diminished marriage, the Lord showed me where I needed to repent before my forgiveness for him was completed.
He showed me all those moments that my husband at the time expressed he needed me to understand, he needed me to make him feel like he was good enough…… and here’s the worse one…
He needed me to be his wife.
Ugggh….. the #wifefail completely overwhelmed me in such a icky way, remembering those words from him.
While I was doing my best to forgive him for many matters that transpired throughout the marriage, those words came back to remembrance. Not that, those words erased all that occurred in our marriage till it’s failing but at that moment when the Lord reminded me of each time he tried to reach for encouragement, enrichment, and security in our marriage, I rejected him which then made him feel that he had to ask for me to be his wife.
Ouch….right?!
Before meeting my now husband, Anthony, and not knowing if I was ever going to remarry or not, repenting for those actions, asking for forgiveness, and seeking God to make me into a woman that embraced godly characters for the future became important to me.

Truth is, I enjoyed embracing that quality even before knowing if I was ever going to remarry again because it changed me.
It changed my perspective on so many things. It aligned my mind with the acceptable mannerism of godly traits and it changed my speech of conduct for the better towards everyone in my life.
I was now a woman that desired to encourage, uplift, and speak life to men and women without any motive to it.
Especially encouraging my husband with scripture.
I now choose to speak with enlightenment because of my new way of thinking and speaking by the leading of Christ.
Now that I am married to a pretty cool guy that I love to pieces and wonder how I have gotten this far without him? I like to get creative with different ways to encourage him.
I am not saying, that saying it straight to our husbands is not good enough because truth is, it is absolutely beautiful that you can look into your husbands eyes and tell him exactly what you think of him and of all his great qualities.
But I think finding creative ways to encourage your husband can actually spice things up romantically too.
I love when sending a text to my husband, I envision that grin on his face and that possibly somehow I helped changed his day for the better. It gives me that tingle only loving someone can give.
Encouraging our husbands with scripture texts or with our other actions builds a healthy relationship which can also build a healthy sex life and induce romance. This is just a benefit not the motive ladies. =)
I usually send text messages during the day while he is at work, throughout the weekend while he is doing ministry, and late at night so he may wake up to a sweet surprise on his phone.
Along with all the sweet nothings, spicy texts, and sentimental words, I think sending scriptures to encourage my husband edifies your marriage to a greater level so I always try to make sure I send bible verses every so often.
Here a few of my favorite encouraging scriptures to send to my husband when I am thinking of him. Each one with intentions to remind him who he is in Christ.

Truthfully, the best scriptures you can send to encourage your husband are the ones that remind you of him and his walk with Christ.
The scriptures can even be ones that you want to speak into his life.
For example, maybe you hope for him become stronger in his walk as a leader at home or at his workplace; send him scriptures that speaks life to that area in his life.
I truly hope this post has encouraged you to become a daily encouragement to your husband.
It is one of the best gifts we have as a wife: the authority to change the atmosphere in our marriages with our gentle lips.

Thank you so so much ma’am for sharing this!
As I went through the write up and verses,I began to see reasons why I should resume what I sometimes use to do but stopped doing after a case of infidelity that my spouse was involved in but after going through this,i became encouraged.
I’m gonna be doing it consciously, God helping me.
God bless you!

Thank you so much for sharing! I spent a lot of time sending him messages to encourage him or put a smile on his face but I never thought of sending scriptures with it. I think it’s a brilliant idea to remind him of whose he is, but also to tell him I see him walking in the right direction.

Carmen, thank you for being honest and open about where you’ve struggled in the past as you encourage others to do things differently. I often don’t take encouraging my husband seriously enough and this both encourages me and challenges me to be more intentional about lifting him up in words, action and prayer. Thank you for this great list of scriptures to add into the mix and add some variety I’ve been missing!

What a fabulous idea! I try to text my husband occasionally, yet I never thought of sending a scripture. The first one that comes to mind for my husband is Rom 12:2 “And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect will of God.” He will be getting that text this week! Thanks for the great ideas to encourage our husbands. 8)

What an inspiring example you are to all of us, Carmen! We need to make it our mission every day to encourage our husbands. And I love the idea of texting Scriptures to him. I’ve NEVER thought of doing that! Yikes! And I’ve been married 31 years! Okay, here’s to kicking my “thick-skulled wife neglect” to the curb! Pinning and tweeting this!

Sending verses are a great idea. I send encouraging texts or tell him verbally how thankful I am for all he does, etc., but I never thought to send a verse with a word of encouragement. I’m going to do that right now!

I love these, Carmen! My husband and I text all day, but it’s usually small stuff about our day or what we need from the store. We’ve been married over 26 years but I’m always looking for ways to keep our marriage strong! On to the next 26…

Love these, Carmen! I spend a good portion of my day messaging my husband but I don’t think I’ve ever sent Scripture, just general comments, encouragements, or funny stories. Thanks for the ideas!
