Why you should join a Christian based Facebook Group as a Blogger.
Recently I started a private Facebook Group for Women Christian Bloggers. I would say it’s probably one of the best things I have done yet in the my blogging journey.
For several reasons I love leading and participating in the group. The group is filled with amazing women that are encouraging, motivated, anointed, and powered by the Word of God.
I literally wake up every morning excited to interact with all the women that contribute to the group. I am blessed each day by the members.
Before I continue, I want to share with you some tips of how to join a Christian Facebook group for Christian bloggers.
How to choose a group that is best fit for you.
Ask yourself:
- What do I want to learn about?
- What areas do I need to grow in, want to grow in, or hope to grow in?
- Does the relationships I have now with other Christian Bloggers contribute to enriching my blog?
- What are the desires for my blog?
- Do I want to build relationships with other bloggers that I can collaborate with or with VA’s that I can someday work with?
These are important questions to ask yourself before joining a group. If you know exactly what you are looking for then you will know what groups you want to participate in and will actually be engaged in.
We can all join groups and have a long list of groups that we are accepted into but are you engaging? Are you reading the posts and learning? Are you receiving what you need for yourself, your ministry, and blog?
If you have a long list of groups and not engaging into the group then truth is, the group becomes useless to you.
Private groups is usually led by people that are confident in what they are teaching and that are willing to sacrifice their time to teach. They desire to help, guide, and motivate. Their passion is to be part of building a community.
Why miss out on that?!
Consider what your needs are when you search in Facebook for private blog groups to join. Read the mission statement and purpose of the group. Confirm that it matches up with what you hope to achieve by being part of a group.
When you join a group take full advantage of the leaders expertise and the members that desire to learn.
I learn daily from the ladies that engage. Their questions and answers always blow me away. I love reading about their experiences in blogging. I am always so impressed with their willingness to learn which gives me so much insight and lessons about being a blogger. But the thing that probably brings the most joy to me is their encouragement to each other.
8 Reasons Why You Should Join Facebook Group as a Christian Blogger:
The Support:
Joining the right Facebook Group will give you the support you need. When I first started blogging, the most common piece of advice I would read from experienced bloggers was to find a tribe right away. To be encouraged by other bloggers that completely understand the obstacles, discouragement, and all the headaches will keep you going. It reminds you that you are not alone and your trials are not any different. The support will bring comfort to us in the time of need. Whether it’s technical difficulties or feeling like no one else but our moms read our blogs our co-bloggers get it and they can help with just two words; “I understand!”
The Mission:
When you choose a group that has the same intentions as you, you will see yourself working harder towards your mission because the vision is brought forth to you every time you enter into the forum of other like minded bloggers. Currently, I am a member of a few private groups for bloggers. Two groups I have joined is teaching me how to promote my blog and one I recently joined is to learn how to create a Ebook. They each have the purpose and mindset of a mission that I am trying to accomplish which becomes valuable to my blog. When connecting with a group that is like minded in using their blog as a ministry, you will begin to see yourself running even more towards the great calling!
The Abundance:
You will receive an abundance of knowledge. When participating in a Christian based group with a few hundred or thousands of people you are receiving knowledge, experience, and input from many people that are in the same niche as you. You will also receive an abundance from the Word of God being allowed in Christian Blogging Groups. Participating in a Christian based group will give you the word of God and give you opportunities to be united with other prayerful bloggers. This will help you gain insight spiritually in many areas for your blog and for the purpose of your blog.
The Interaction:
I have personally developed amazing friends by being part of groups with like minded bloggers. The interaction with other bloggers gives me motivation, develops determination, and increases my hope. Another benefit of interacting as a blogger is that you are allowing your blog/brand to be seen. Your interaction is a representation of what your blog is about. Allow people to get to know you and your blog by your presence.
The Presence:
I know presence was already mentioned but this is a big one for all social media platforms as a blogger. The more involved you are by responding to posts and comments the more you are developing a healthy presence for yourself and your blog. If you are assisting and being a help to others around you, you are putting out a positive message of who you are and what your blog represents. Your presence can speak volumes for your blog in any Facebook group. Do not fake this, be genuine and the person God has created you to be.
The Increase:
Being part of groups that allow you to share your blog posts and social media platforms brings increase to your blog. Sharing your work generates high traffic and eventually sales. Also, a group that encourages you to ask questions of how to build your blog and teaches you to create a flourishing blog brings increase. Taking advantage of all the teaching tools increases your knowledge and experience for your blog.
The Goals:
Most Facebook groups has goals for their members. The goals for groups are usually posted on the bio for the group. If you participate in a group that has the same goals as you do for blogging then their group will help you immensely! The accountability will take you farther than you can imagine. It’s like going to the gym or stopping a bad habit; your goal is to eventually to come out better; having a friend with you to get through all the obstacles and to remind you of the end results is always a game changer! Link together in goals, we are all running the same race to bring Glory to Him through our Blogs.
The Ministry:
Being part of Christian groups contributes to you cultivating your ministry. You are able to show your ministry when you participate in a group. You can minister to others in representation of your blog and as a minister you can humbly be ministered to; which essentially builds you up for ministry. Allow your light and works shine with humbleness and grace.

Thank you. I am fairly new to the blogging world and to blogging groups. I have joined a couple of groups that have been great but I definitely miss Christian fellowship on those groups.

Thanks for such a great post. Although I’m a member of Christian Blogging groups I just realised I haven’t been involved as I should be. I’m going to work on building relationships with other like-minded bloggers. You are right, it will make the whole journey a lot easier and better. Thanks for the insight. Carmen, You make a compelling argument for joining a blogging FB group. I have joined different groups but not a blogging group. You’ve provided an excellent way to evaluate and find the perfect match. Next time I’ll be wiser. Thanks so much.

I love this encouragement! Finding people to walk with can make such a difference. Plus, I realized I may have some groups that I just need to exit.

Love that you have discernment in this area. It is so important. Facebook groups need to have a purpose for each individual and to what you need for the moment. Some may last you being part of their group for years, some you may only need for a short time. It all comes down to the leading of the Lord. Blessings to you!

So much good information here. What I especially like, is that you included Ministry. Facebook groups are abundant, true ministry in them is a rare gift indeed! I am excited to join the group…and I’d love for you to see if my work is a good fit for your Pinterest board too. Keep up your important work on this piece of the internet. You are shining a light 😉

Th ABUNDANCE! I love how everyone has different strengths, passions, anointing, seasons, and revelations that we can glean from. And just that everything is literally overflowing with grace- if you have a ‘dumb’ question, that’s ok; if you’re having a bad day, that’s ok; if you’ve made a mistake, that’s ok. Loving the community you’re building Carmen, it’s so good 🙂

Thank you Hannah, like always you are going to make me cry with your sweeet words and encouragement!

Carmen, I told you on instagram, but I feel it’s important to reiterate on your blog where it has more longevity: I LOVE YOUR FACEBOOK GROUP! People actually care, pray for one another, and genuinely want to encourage each other. Thank you again for starting it. I connect with your facebook group more than any other (and the fact that it’s Christian is the icing on top!). Xoxo 🙂

Rebecca, you are so sweet and kind! I am so blessed by all the women that are enjoying the group. It truly is all God. I never thought it would be of so many prayer warriors, support, and the love of Christ shinning through. It has been a tremendous eye opener for me of what God is doing to so many women bloggers that are blogging for Christ. Thank you for being part of it! Love you my sister!!

Hi Carmen,
Great post and YOU are a fabulous group leader! I’m honored to be a part of the group, but equally sad that I have had such a rediculously busy season I haven’t been able to interact as I would like. I’m hoping for the new year to look a little different! Thank you for your heart and your ministry! You are a blessing!
Blessings and smiles,
Lori
