Late last year there was a persistent tugging on my heart, in my thoughts, and with my time in my prayer room that I was to start a Facebook group; that was specifically for Christian Women Bloggers. I fought this on many occasions.
First off, at the time I did not have too much experience as a blogger under my belt. But the biggest excuse of why to not start one, and probably the most embarrassing excuse was that; I didn’t even have a Facebook.
Crazy, right?! How could I start a Facebook group when I didn’t even have a personal account myself? I had no idea how to use Facebook, how to post on Facebook, let alone, how to create a group on Facebook. But the more I struggled with it, the more the Lord openly spoke to me of starting the group.
For example, one day after praying in my prayer room about this specific idea that could just not leave my mind; I opened my emails, lo’ and behold there was a email from a fellow Christian blogger that only wrote two sentences in the entirety of the email. “Hello, Have you considered starting a Facebook group for Bloggers? I keep visioning you doing this. Love, xxxx.”
Ok, God, you’re funny! (Imagine the sound of laughter with fear and tears).
After 2 cups of coffee and 4 hours of sitting in one position in the middle of the night to learn Facebook, “By His Grace Bloggers” then went live based off of faith.
Today we (we, is me and my blogging bestie/Group Admin, Natalie) now have over 900 members in By His Grace Bloggers that is specifically for Christian Women Bloggers. We confirm every blogger that requests to join is a women blogger that is using their blog to: inspire, teach, enrich, and encourage others with the word of God.
The group has became a sisterhood, a prayer team, and a place of trust. The group that initially started as a place to learn how to blog together has became something so much bigger that can not be explained as anything else but as “This is ALL God!”
When I read Timberley’s post this week, “Why you need a War Room”, I couldn’t help but share. Timberley is a member of the By His Grace Bloggers group, also known as a “Grace Girl”. Amongst many of the women in the group, she has shown time after time the example of what God wanted this group to be created for, a Prayer Team.
Her words and encouragement within the group is well written in this post. The desire to connect with God and to share with others what He reveals to us in our prayer rooms is vital to shinning our light to others. Our intimacy with God is what will lead us to what He has called for us to do and to be.
As for me, the Prayer Room I continue to seek God in led me to develop a group I never imagined I was capable of, and truth be told, I am NOT capable of it, but God is. He is the one that maintains it, grows it, builds it, and creates a deeper unity in it. But if I was not going into that prayer room, would I have listened? Would I have sought after Him for the plans? Would I have saw that email as a leading from Him?
Most importantly, would I have been able to continue the group, the blog, the ministry within it all, if I was not seeking Him in my prayer room for His leading, wisdom, and instruction? I hope you read “Why you need a War room” and receive the revelation of what God can do with us in the time of intimacy with Him.

Every trial we face is fought on the battlefield of prayer. It doesn’t matter if you’re fighting for your health, your relationships, or walking through financial hardship. The truth is, every victory or defeat is fought in the spirit; before it manifest itself in the natural.
Philippians 4:6 (NKJV)Â tells us; “Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God”
So that means anything we are faced with, we can go to God in prayer. Yes, you can pray anywhere, and you should. But there is something about going to a place where you are alone just you and God with no distractions. A place that allows you to speak to God; where it’s quiet enough to hear Him speak to you.

Carmen – I am so impressed with your obedience to God to start a group. I too have done the same not with facebook, but I started a faith based ministry for families with loved ones with mental illness at our church. I was the girl that didn’t want to stand up and speak. However, I was so passionate about helping people and being obedient to God I did it. I even stand up and take the floor on a regular basis, which led to writing about embracing life in the midst of the unexpected. Who would have thought? I guess God. Thank you for all you do.

I wish I would obey God on his first requests instead of waiting for those confirmations. But how wonderful that you did eventually start the Facebook group and can see how it blesses so many!

Timberly, I am so blessed by your post this early morning “Every trial we face is fought on the battlefield of prayer” Prayer is an effective tool to stand in the gap of each and every individual who is facing a battle whether it be of the mind, heart, or the body.
