If you were to ask me what is the most unrealistic expectation when first starting a blog, I would easily say: How much time it takes to build and maintain a blog.
First we are a parent, maintaining a home, participating in Church, going to soccer practice, giving full attention to our marriage, caring for the dogs, washing dishes and laundry …… and so, so much more that we do in a normal day.
When you become a Christian Writer you will soon realize that it is not just about sitting down to write. Having a Christian based foundation blog becomes an area of ministry, building community, and being accountable to the word of God. It takes time to sit with God daily and seek Him for direction and decisions you are about to make for your blog and writing. It also takes time to build the community God has put in your hands to lead.
Creating a schedule for our life is critical to grow a successful blog
but it is also important because it will help us maintain to what else is important in our lives.
Married by His Grace and all that is in extension to it is one of the most important things I do everyday but I do not allow it step over the fact that I am first God’s, then a wife, mother, homemaker, then a blogger/writer.
To do this I create a daily block schedule that is focused around my top priorities. While writing my schedule I will first add my priorities such as: my daily time with God, family routines and appointments, then the needs of the home before adding my needs for my blog.

Share on XThe one thing I believe in most when it comes to blogging is that I can not write about my faith, marriage, or being a stay at home mom if I am not being it first.

Reading my Bible and prayer time is usually first onto my block schedule then as I set the rest of the schedule I add what is needed for the family in the time slots that I need to do it by.
For example; making lunch and putting kids for nap takes an hour so I slot it between 12pm to 1pm everyday. Nap time is about two hours so then I will slot 1pm to 3pm for Blogging Schedule. (My Blogging schedule is a schedule all on its own. I have the schedule saved on my laptop. I will go to my office when I am going to work on the blog, social media, Facebook group, ect.)
Scheduling days with a ‘To Do” list, a planner, or a block schedule, creates productivity and accountability to our priorities.
I find this to be so important that I even made sure to add a chapter about block scheduling in the By His Grace We Blog, Christian Blogging book.
As soon as I read Csilla’s post in the Salt & Light Link Up Facebook group about 5 Simple Steps for a Productive Day, I just knew I had to share it here for us wifey’s, mommas, and full time bloggers. Csilla even offers a downloadable ‘7 Step Productivity System’ on her site.
Don’t forget to check out her About Me page. I was highly impressed by her passion to why she loves to writes about productivity. She speaks my kind of language!
5 Simple Steps for a Super Productive Day

Ok. So let’s be honest. How many times have you said to someone this week “I’m so busy! I wish I had more hours in the day.”
Right? I know I did at least 3 times.
We turn busyness into a badge of honor and many times almost feel weird if we don’t have too many things going on during the day.
Is it just me?
We live in an age where busyness is worshiped and slowing down is getting harder and harder.
Now, I have to get this out of the way. I don’t think that working hard is bad. Not at all. In fact, if you look in the Bible the word “Go” is used way more times than “Stay.”
I believe that God himself wants us to be productive and produce good fruit. I know that He created us to do “good works” which he prepared for us to do even before we were born.
So, the problem is not with being productive.
The question is what are we being productive in?
Is it the right thing? Are these things that we consciously choose to do because we really want to do them and believe that they help us grow and move forward?
Or are we being busy for busyness sake?
The whole month of May our topic will be PRODUCTIVITY.
But we don’t just want to learn to be more productive throughout our days. We want to get the right things done!!
So, in light of that here are my top 5 Simple Steps For A Productive day. Getting the right things done in less time.

Having a plan for the day has often been a lot easier. Meeting my daily targets seems to be the pain in the neck especially when the unexpected shows up. As a part time blogger and author, I believe I really need to read the book. Hoping it will help reorganize me. Thanks for what you’re doing.
