After accepting Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, it becomes very important of how you live in Him and through Him. When you receive salvation you receive a new life which means you need to live a new life. You are no longer living the ways of the world. You are now living the ways of the Lord. Here are seven things that are important to keep in your walk so you can stay in the walk, grow in His presence, and keep His Peace.
Read the Bible daily:
- All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, 2 Timothy 3:16
- For whatever was written in former days was written for our instruction, that through endurance and through the encouragement of the Scriptures we might have hope Romans 15:4
Pray Daily:
- Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours. Mark 11:24
- Casting all your anxieties on him, because he cares for you. 1 Peter 5:7
Depend on the Holy Spirit:
- Likewise the Spirit helps us in our weakness. For we do not know what to pray for as we ought, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groaning’s too deep for words. Romans 8:26
- But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, he will teach you all things and bring to your remembrance all that I have said to you. John 14:26
Attend church regularly:
- For where two or three are gathered in my name, there am I among them.” Matthew 18:20
- And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near. Hebrews 10:24-25
Be a service to others:
- Do not neglect to do good and to share what you have, for such sacrifices are pleasing to God. Hebrews 13:16
- As each has received a gift, use it to serve one another, as good stewards of God’s varied grace: 1 Peter 4:10
Conquer your mind, doubts, and temptations:
- Watch and pray that you may not enter into temptation. The spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.” Matthew 26:41
- No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. Romans 8:37
Spread the Gospel:
- For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them. Ephesians 2:10
- Until I come, devote yourself to the public reading of Scripture, to exhortation, to teaching. 1 Timothy 4:13
- And this gospel of the kingdom will be proclaimed throughout the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come. Matthew 24:14
Whether you are new in your walk as a Christian or have been in the process of growth with Him; I pray these scriptures bring encouragement and joy to your spirit. Saying yes to Jesus was the best decision I ever made in my life. My hope is that the moment anyone says the words “I receive You as my Lord and Savior,” the peace of God comforts you to feel the same.
Leave scriptures that have encouraged you and can encourage others. Continue to keep new believers in prayer for strength and wisdom.
